Socitm launches public sector Digital Trends report
2025

Socitm has launched its public sector Digital Trends report for 2025.

The report offers a roadmap to reimagine service delivery with innovation, technology, community, and place at the heart.

The report asks 10 critical questions for every public service leader to address, to step 'beyond borders' - whether cultural, administrative, organisational or structural.

It focuses on three deep dive areas of data, cybersecurity and reimagining services and exposes the critical interdependencies of digital initiatives and organisational goals. It also emphasises the importance of clear vision and teamwork to achieve better social, economic and environmental outcomes.

Martin Ferguson, research director, Socitm said: "The future of digital leadership demands a proactive, outward-looking, collaborative and inclusive approach. Our report provides a practical framework for leaders to rethink public service delivery, strengthen resilience, and harness the transformative power of technology and data for the benefit of the organisations and communities they serve.”

Carol Williams, Socitm president and director transformation and digital at Walsall Council said: "At the heart of change are the people — leaders, teams, and communities — who make it happen.  This report is not just a guide to leveraging technology but a call to mentor and empower individuals to think boldly, collaborate widely, and to create inclusive solutions that truly serve our communities and places.”
